I'm Marie G., the breeder behind Oak Hills English Goldens located in Oak Hills, CA. We are a small hobby breeder. We began breeding 8 years ago and do all of our health testing. This hobby has become a passion of ours and we can't imagine a life without our dogs and puppies.
Q. & A. with Marie
Why did you start breeding?
We have always had American Golden retrievers. When our girl, Felicity, passed away at 15 we knew we needed another Golden in our life. That is when we got Winter—from there on we fell in love with the English Golden’s as well! My grandson wanted a puppy and Winter was fully health tested and has amazing temperament so we decided to breed her to a full health tested stud and fell in love with the whole process.
What makes your program special?
We make sure to fully health test our parent dogs. They also need to have a great temperament, and confirmation. Before our puppies go home we work on socialization, and potty training as well as crate training for the new families.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
