I'm Kayla L., the breeder behind Oak View Danes located in Elkton, KY. We understand the responsibility of purposefully breeding in order to do better for the breed and the families that love them! We stand behind the health, structure, and temperament of our puppies and select forever homes that best compliment the unique personalities of each puppy. Our puppies come with 2 year health guarantees for genetic disorders. Puppies receive their DA2PPCV at 7 weeks of age. Puppies are socialized with children (ages 6,4 & 2). Both parents are on site and have been health screened for Hips, heart and thyroid disorders. These puppies are veterinarian raised.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I started breeding 6 years ago with Maggie. I wanted to breed healthy Great Danes. We have seen so many that are bred for looks and no care about hips or heart conditions. Maggie just had her last litter. We retire females after 3 litters.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our dogs are raised with our family and other animals. They receive the best care and we always ensure that they have the best health.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include blue, harlequin, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Kayla

Kayla has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"The price includes a 2 year health guarantee, 1 set of vaccines, microchip, veterinarian exam, and deworming. Puppies are AKC. All our puppies are the same price regardless of color or size unless approved for breeding rights."

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

    Kayla was amazing the entire process! I found her before our puppy was born and was impressed with her level of health testing, love for her pets, and experience. She is always very responsive and sent updates, pictures and videos at least weekly, and everytime I asked how everyone was doing. Kayla also requests updates as he navigates his new life which I love and shows she genuinely cares about her pups and the families they go to. Dutch is such a sweetheart and everything we were hoping for. We can't wait to watch him grow!

    Kayla was amazing to work with and she was so knowledgeable. I had a Great Dane for nine and a half years and adding one of her puppies to our family after he passed was the best decision we could’ve made.     I have had such an amazing experience with Kayla and Oak View Danes! By interacting with Kayla throughout the process you can tell how much she loves and cares for these babies. She also has a mind blowing depth of knowledge about Great Danes, and is always available for questions and guidance. She is extremely responsive, friendly and supportive. I have had my pup for less than a week and she already shows signs of how much care she had received weeks 1-8 with Kayla and her family. After our first checkup with our vet, he commented on how impressed he was with Maple’s (Blossom) health, temperament, and behavior. I cant’t recommend Oak View Danes enough if you’re considering adding a 115-150lb fur baby into your life!
