I'm Joanna H., the breeder behind OlliePups, LLC located in Boiling Springs, SC. Each of our dogs has brought so much happiness to us throughout their lives! We want to do our part to produce wonderful, healthy dogs that can bring other people joy as well, and we strive to give our puppies a voice through temperament testing to help them find their perfect family.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Joanna and Mandie are both dog lovers and wanted to find a way to integrate dogs into both of their chosen fields. They both believe that health, temperament, and raising puppies on a curriculum is of the upmost importance.

  • What makes your program special?

    Breeding and loving dogs is not for the faint of heart but we're up for the challenge! Hard decisions must be made, seemingly perfect dogs will have to be removed from the program at times, but at the end of the day we will honor our dogs and their needs. We promise to do the best that we know how and to love our dogs and their puppies unconditionally. Please visit our website for more info!

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Bernedoodle puppies include medium and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Bernedoodle puppies include brown, red, and tri-color. Bernese Mountain Dog puppies are tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Joanna

Joanna has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Joanna partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“Picks take place between weeks 6-7 in order of reservation fee. This is following a temperament evaluation and complete vet check.”

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,495 - $5,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“We have a level system for pricing that includes the amount of vet care, grooming, and training a puppy receives before going to their forever home. This is a non-refundable reservation/administrative fee once pregnancy has been confirmed via ultrasound. While this fee is non-refundable it is transferrable to other litters (including future litters).”

Joanna may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

    I can't say enough good things about OlliePups! From my initial inquiry, all the way through the first few days home with my amazing, adorable, exceptional Golden Mountain Doodle puppy, Joanna has been there for me to answer questions, provide resources and links, and cheer my puppy and me on. It's been a week now since I brought my puppy home, and I am beyond impressed with how much he already knows! He is also super well-natured and sweet. From the first day, he was easily going potty outside and settling on his own. And, he started sleeping through the night on day 3! But most of all, what blows me away is his ability to deal with whatever comes. On day 2 we had a big thunderstorm, and he didn't react at all. He met a big dog at the vet and handled it beautifully. Also, the whole vet visit was a breeze. (By the way, the vet was super impressed with his previous vet care with OlliePups and the food OlliePups recommended.) I don't remember how I found OlliePups - just surfing around on GoodDog, I think - but I'm so glad I did!

    We had a wonderful experience and could not be happier with our puppy. He came home healthy, adorable, and clearly very well cared for. He was already very well socialized and comfortable with regular daily sounds—including household noise, city sounds, and even sirens—as well as different people and other dogs, which made the transition home so much smoother.
