I'm Karen T., the breeder behind OmaStarke Standard Schnauzers located in Plattsmouth, NE. It’s important to us that we continue to improve our program and share our knowledge with our buyer families. We want to better the breed through thorough health testing and selective breeding decisions.

Why did you start breeding?
I dreamed of having the honor of owning a Standard Schnauzer from age 11, and now later in life, I am able to breed for genetics and breed standard and temperament with true considerations to the history of the breed and share this wonderful dog with families.What makes your program special?
My dogs go to work with me as an occupational therapist. We focus on getting people back to activities of daily living whether it looks exactly as it did before or different. Peoples lives are often impacted by interacting with this charismatic, sensitive, intuitive and protective breed. Many patients from Europe will break out in joy filled German singing when they lay eyes on my work partner.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Karen
Karen has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $200 refundable deposit and $1,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
OFA/CHIC DNA Repository, Dilated Cardiomyopathy (Schnauzer Type)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
