I'm Jacqui B., the breeder behind Open Door Doodles located in Mentor, OH. We are a home-based breeding program where puppies are raised as part of our family. We focus on health testing, temperament, and intentional socialization. Our puppies receive early neurological stimulation, gentle training, and hands-on care to help them grow into confident, loving companions.
Q. & A. with Jacqui
Why did you start breeding?
Our breeding journey began when we were looking to add a puppy to our own family. Through that experience, we fell in love with the Labradoodle breed and later the Australian Labradoodle. As we learned more about responsible breeding and early development, our appreciation turned into a passion for thoughtfully raising puppies and supporting families through the process.
What makes your program special?
What truly sets our program apart is our commitment to lifelong success. We encourage families to enroll in professional basic obedience training and offer a refund of the reservation fee upon proof of completion, helping set both puppy and family up for a strong foundation. We believe this, combined with the foundation we provide before puppies leave, play a key role in their lifelong success.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are medium size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include parti, caramel, and apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
