Meet the breeder

I'm Alyssa M., the breeder behind Open Star Goldens located in Lehi, UT. Our goals are to breed dogs that are capable of working in homes where they are needed most without adding stress to a family. Temperament is central to our program while only breeding the healthiest dogs. Our dogs are capable of handling difficult tasks or being trained as service and therapy dogs.

Q. & A. with Alyssa

  • Why did you start breeding?

Breeding dogs has been in both of our families for generations. We have been blessed to learn from our parents and grandparents and have just a love for animals. We started our own program to create what we call “working families dogs” who are capable of working for children with unique needs inside the home or as service and therapy dogs. It is a passion project for us!
  • What makes your program special?

Our program is centered in producing dogs that thrive in homes with small children. We have produced several service and therapy dogs and our program gives puppies the foundation for service work in the future.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
