I'm Teresa C., the breeder behind Orange Mountain Basset Hounds located in Robbins, TN. I have lived my entire life with hounds, Bassets, and Beagles. I couldn't imagine life without them. We live on 296 acres and had our hounds in mind when we bought, to allow them to be able to run in packs. I devote my time to them and have many Grandchildren that help love on and socialize with our puppies. I feel blessed to do what I love: produce, raise, and work with Bassets.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My grandmother bred Bassets and my father bred Beagles. I worked at a vet for 16 years and have always had the dream to follow in my family's footsteps. I have a circle of Basset & Beagle breeding friends who have helped my dream come into focus.

  • What makes your program special?

    I have lots of love for the breed and I do not breed for the money. I want to maintain the standards of the breed and honor their history. Once I'm no longer breeding, I would love to be a Basset Hound rescue and senior home. All my gals & girls will retire here on this farm we've built round them. This is their life and our world ❤️. I want each dog and pup to feel like everyday they won the lottery with life here.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Beagle puppies include black tan and redtick, blue tan and white, black tan and white, black tan and bluetick, black fawn and white, and black and tan. Basset Hound puppies include black and white, blue tan and white, red and white, mahogany and white, lemon and white, black brown and white, and black and brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Teresa

Teresa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Teresa partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $1,250 - $1,950 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The Price includes AKC/CKC Puppy, Registration papers (no breeding rights as stated in contract) Vet Records of immunizations given, along with a detailed and documented exam. Will provide food ( enough for transitioning should you want to change food to that of your choice) toys, chews, Purina Puppy Packet with educational information and a few extras always. Unless unforeseen passing of puppy. At which time owner/ breeder will discuss options.”

  • Lafora Disease (LD), Thrombopathia, Basset Hound Type, Primary Open Angle Glaucoma, Basset Hound Type, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease, X-Linked, Basset Hound Type (XSCID)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Teresa was very knowledgeable about the basset hound breed. She kept us informed about the pups and how they were growing and developing. She also worked with us on a day we could come and pick the pup up. Teresa's facility was very top notch.
