I'm Elizabeth A., the breeder behind Orchard Hill Miniature Schnauzers located in Portland, OR. I have been breeding Miniature Schnauzers for over 45 years and showing for over 25. In that time I have been an active member of the American Miniature Schnauzer Club and am the current President for the Portland Miniature Schnauzer Club.
Q. & A. with Elizabeth
Why did you start breeding?
I started getting involved back in 1966 after graduating high school. I fell in love with the breed and began breeding shortly after that. I became more educated on showing, obedience and other things like that and then went to school to become a veterinary technician.
What makes your program special?
I have dedicated many years to the betterment of the Schnauzer breed, including public education as well as fund raising for and supporting Miniature Schnauzer health research. As a Veterinary Technician I am an advocate of breeding only healthy, health tested dogs, whose temperament and conformation represent the breed standard as set forth by the AMSC.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
