Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Origins Goldens located in Strawberry Plains, TN. Our goal is to raise what the GRCA describes as "a truly multipurpose family hunting dog." We raise our puppies in our family home and introduce then to behavior shaping, potty training, and early stimulation to help you get a head start on training a well adjusted dog.

Q. & A. with Lauren

  • Why did you start breeding?

When I was growing up, my family raised American Eskimos. We had two Golden Retrievers at different times as family pets, and I've always loved retrievers since. We purchased our female, Kyra, from a breeder when my husband and I were expecting our daughter and since then I spend much of my free time learning about responsible breeding, Goldens, and dog sports.
  • What makes your program special?

We raise our puppies indoors where they are handled daily and exposed to regular household sounds. I spend time learning each puppy's personality to help guide our families into choosing the perfect puppy for their home. I have a long term goal for my program, seeking to move towards something with every litter, not just to sell puppies. Our families stay in touch through a Facebook group.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Lauren from Origins Goldens was always extremely responsive and helpful. Any questions I had about the parents and the puppies she was quick and kind to respond. I absolutely loved how helpful she was when it came to matching the best puppy to my goals and lifestyle. I'm overall very happy with my experience and would more than happy purchase another puppy from her program in the future! Moose (formerly Bailey) is everything I could have asked for and more. I'm over the moon happy with the puppy I brought home and am excited to see what else our journey entails.
