I'm Lana B., the breeder behind Oso Perfect Poodles and Doodles located in Harpers Ferry, WV. Our family breeding program is truly a labor of love, run right from our home where our dogs are part of our everyday life.  We focus on raising healthy, happy puppies with excellent temperaments, and every litter is cared for with hands-on attention and plenty of affection. .

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We fell in love with poodles and doodles after our daughter was diagnosed with asthma, which led us to appreciate the importance of health and thoughtful breeding, That experience inspired us to begin breeding healthy, well cared for dogs with great temperaments.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our at-home breeding program is built on a foundation of love, ethics and hands-on care.  By keeping our program small, we are able to give every dog the individual attention they deserve from daily enrichment and socialization to thoughtful, responsible breeding practices.  Our home is a clean, comfortable environment where each dog is treated like family.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies are standard size. Bernedoodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies are parti. Bernedoodle puppies are tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Lana

Lana has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Lana partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $2,595 - $3,195 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes a one year health guarantee, CKC or AKC registration, vet visit and first round of vaccinations, deworming, microchip, puppy socialization and beginning potty training. Deposits are non-refundable and non transferable to another person but transferable to future litter.”

Lana may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1B), Bernese Mountain Dog Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    We had such a wonderful experience getting our Bernedoodle puppy from Lana. From the very beginning, communication was excellent. She was always quick to respond and happy to answer any questions we had. Lana even took the time to FaceTime with us so my husband and kids could see the puppies, which made the experience even more special. It was very clear that the puppies are raised in their family home and surrounded by constant love and attention. Our puppy came to us happy, healthy, and well cared for. It was also obvious they had already started working on potty training because our puppy picked it up incredibly quickly once we got home. Lana was also incredibly accommodating and even met us halfway when it was time to pick up our puppy, which we really appreciated. They sent us home with vet records, helpful information about our puppy, and the sweetest welcome basket.     Lana was super helpful from the beginning of this process all the way through to when we picked up our new family member. She was flexible and accommodating to our schedule and needs, and understanding that we wanted to meet the puppies before selecting one to take home. All and all it was a super easy experience and Lana delivered on everything promised which cannot be said for others all the time.     Lana was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She was very responsive and communicative from the start. We began with a FaceTime call so we could meet our potential puppy, and she continued to send photo and video updates leading up to pickup. Lana also took the time to explain the history of her business and tell us about our puppy’s parents. It was clear she takes a great deal of pride in her breeding program. For the exchange, Lana was very accommodating and agreed to meet us halfway. She came prepared with all of the necessary paperwork, which made it easy to share with our vet and complete the microchip transfer.     I enjoyed working with Lana to purchase my puppy. She was very responsive and welcoming throughout the entire process.
