Meet the breeder

I'm Tammie B., the breeder behind Our Family Toy Aussies of Michigan located in Howell, MI. We are a simple, family-run breeding program offering loving and loyal companions to others. We focus on quality care and health with each litter we raise.

Q. & A. with Tammie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We first bought our original toy aussie, Daisy in 2019. I researched about different dog breeds for our small children to grow up with. I wanted a loyal, intelligent dog that would fit in our active lifestyle of camping, farming, and just being outdoors. I looked for a reputable breeder and messaged her so many times ! lol ! We brought our Daisy home and just couldn't stop with just one.
  • What makes your program special?

I was mentored by 3 long time registered breeders of toy aussies for over a year before we decided to give it a go. Each and every family that has purchased a pup from us we keep in contact with. Updates on their process with each new family is important. We love to get random pictures of our pups living their best life with their new families!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Tammie was amazing! I instantly messaged her Friday afternoon and got a message back an hour after sending my first message of interest. Very communicative and nurturing to all her puppies. FaceTime her and got to met my now little shadow before we finally made the first deposit. We picked Simon for which we changed to Henry, his personality description was spot on. He’s very timid but full of curiosity.i has been with us for a month now and fully responds to his new name. He is definitely a momma boy my little shadow. Always wants to know what I’m doing.Best experience to have as a first time on this app. Would definitely do it again this time a girl dog in our future.

I had such a great experience getting our sweet Theo as a surprise Christmas gift for my partner. Tammie sent lots of updates and met over video chat since we live further away. You can really tell how much they love and care for their dogs, and I would 1000% recommend getting your fur baby from her!

Tammie was great and so communicative during the whole process. I don’t think I could have had a better experience when getting Itty Bitty. She was so knowledgeable and kind throughout it all. We had almost an hour and a half long video call before I even met her in person where she went over all my questions and concerns and first introduced me to her pups. I was driving from a long ways away, and she checked on me throughout it all to make sure I was safe and even sent her husband to check on my tires after the pressure was low. Since taking Bitty home, she’s been so kind and has been checking in to make sure everything is okay. She loves getting photos of her and is super encouraging. I didn’t know I was capable of loving something as much as I love Bitty and Tammie did such a great job at getting her ready to be adopted. I really love that she doesn’t allow the pups to be separated from their parents until 12 weeks, so they can have proper bonding with their parents and have any initial bad behavior corrected by the father. A really great experience overall.
