Meet the breeder

I'm Shinae P., the breeder behind Pacific Blue's Danes located in San Angelo, TX. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament and longevity. We do focus on creating family members who can keep up with an active lifestyle. Our dogs have become wonderful family companions and have also excelled in the working environment, conformation and performance environments.

Q. & A. with Shinae

  • Why did you start breeding?

The biggest reason I got into the breed was due to an accident that left me with Mobility issues. I brought home my first dane and realized how much the breed could help me so I continued to research and have tried to create danes that are stable enough to also help other people. Thankfully I had a wonderful vet and mentors in the breed to help guide me in the right direction.
  • What makes your program special?

We raise our puppies with puppy culture and we temperament and or aptitude test prior to making decisions about where puppies go. We start our placement decisions at 7 weeks of age and puppies stay with their siblings for further group and individual socialization till 12 weeks of age. We also do our own transport to ensure the best transition into their new homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include mantle merle, harlequin, mantle, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
