I'm Leona L., the breeder behind Pacific Northwest Pembroke Welsh Corgis located in Gig Harbor, WA. We like to say that our dogs are "all heart and no legs." We have a passion for this wonderful breed. We fell in love with Corgis and wanted to share them with others. We focus on temperament, conformation and preserving their herding instinct.
Q. & A. with Leona
Why did you start breeding?
Of all the things we raise here on our small farm-the dogs are certainly my favorite. A few years ago I had gone to a friends farm to work with her pigs and the gal who came to demonstrate brought her 2 Pems-who in no time rounded up 2 700# sows and multiple piglets and brought them right where we needed! The lightbulb went off-I NEED THAT!!! And the rest-as they say-is history. Pembrokes natural instincts are very helpful with everything from pigs to sheep, goats and cattle and thrive with the opportunity to herd.
What makes your program special?
We put a lot of love into our dogs and strive to breed to the breed standard. We focus on health and the Corgi's natural herding instincts.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red and sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Parent dogs
Queenie, mom
Pembroke Welsh Corgi
About Queenie
Queenie is very loving and smart, a stranger is just someone she hasn't met yet. Genetic testing done and OFA's good
Joy, mom
Pembroke Welsh Corgi
About Joy
Red Pem. Very loving, active and happy. Joy is my "little spoon" very snuggly.
Hope, mom
Pembroke Welsh Corgi
About Hope
Hope has a more petite frame and easily stays fit with walks and light farm duties (and of course evening zoomies around the pasture) . She has always been more independent than her sister, even slightly aloof, but the past few months has decided cuddles are good and seeks out attention more lately. Hope enjoys time snuggling on the couch-especailly if there's popcorn involved-but is very polite in how she asks for another, please and thank you.
Edgar, dad
Pembroke Welsh Corgi
About Edgar
Sweet and lovable-Edgar may actually be the smartest of the group-the first to figure out new challenges-like a newly installed dog door. He enjoys long walks on the beach to sniff the fresh salt air and maybe chase some seagulls.
Chunky, dad
Pembroke Welsh Corgi
About Chunky
Chunky is a male Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Carefully selected as a great representative of his breed, Leona decided to make him part of their program. Leona has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Griffin, dad
Pembroke Welsh Corgi
About Griffin
Griffin has a wonderful personality, is very sweet with all family & farm members, laid back until it's time to go to work here on the farm-then he's ready for action. Griffin enjoys car rides and long walks-whether it be in the woods or at the beach (well, who doesn't?)
Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing

Leona was very responsive and communicated effectively. She shared on social media so we could watch weekly the progression of the pups. 💕
