Meet the breeder

I'm Brittany M., the breeder behind Palmetto Bernedoodles Boutique located in Irmo, SC. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. We work hard to breed exemplary dogs that are well taken care of from day one and are prepared to excel in loving and caring homes. We love our dogs and puppies, and we strive to place each pup in a home suited to their temperament. We pride ourselves on bettering the breed through genetic testing, OFAs, and raising one litter at a time in a loving environment.

Q. & A. with Brittany

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got interested in breeding when we were deciding to purchase our second doodle. I began research. I wanted to know what set other breeders apart from the next as there are so many. I studied genetics, hips, elbows, patellas, cardiac, ophthalmology, colors, coat types and textures, temperaments and I discovered that there is so much that goes into trying to produce a particular dog based on the families needs/wants. Above all, I want to better the breed and put so much care into planning the right litters as well as taking care of the puppies in such a way that it is an easy transition to their forever homes.
  • What makes your program special?

I have done my research!! I am a one litter on the ground at a time breeder! This allows for each puppy and the recovering Momma to get individualized care. I am breeding for health first, temperament, coat, and as the puppies get older I will match them as best I can with the needs of the puppy and family! My program doesn’t just stop with the basic genetics. My breeding pets/studs are fully evaluated! Also, doodles, when properly handled from birth, exposed to different things, and socialized go home ready for training and ready for their families!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include mini and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red, tri-color, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I can’t say enough about Brittany. She is such an incredible breeder and person. I started getting regular updates and pictures of my puppy the day they were born. The pups got great stimulation and lots of love from Brittany’s 3 children. My little Tucker is a great addition to my family. Healthy , beautiful and smart. Brittany is the only breeder I will use going forward. Sincerely, Rhonda Graper

Brittany is a fantastic breeder. This is my first puppy from her. She was well informed and a great communicator. I feel like he has been given a really good foundation for me as a 3 family dog home. George is well rounded and has a great start on potty training. It has really made a difference. He is a great companion to my Lab. I am very pleased
