Meet the breeder

I'm Ashley H., the breeder behind PARK’s Family Farm located in Hurtsboro, AL. We believe in breeding responsibly & for a purpose, health testing to ensure good genetics & raising our pups to fit any family be it as a pet, hunter or both. Our pups are loved & cared for from before birth to when they go home, we want forever homes for them & are here to offer lifetime support.

Q. & A. with Ashley

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding soon after adding my 1st personal Lab to the family. I started to “nerd out” as some of my family like to say learning about different factors in pedigrees & genetics & what can affect a puppy & shape it into who it will be before it’s even born. Many things come from the hands on training & their day to day life but the genetics play a big part & caught & held my attention.
  • What makes your program special?

Honestly one of the most important parts of our breeding program other than our selective breeding & genetics comes after birth, all of our puppies are raised around our family & our kids are just as much an integral part in our program as the Early Neurological Stimulation & Scent Exposure we do, they are loud, fun, playful & help the pups burn off energy & learn to have fun with people.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our English Cocker Spaniel puppies include black and white, lemon and white, black, and lemon roan. Basset Hound puppies include lemon and white and black brown and white. Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Boykin Spaniel puppies include dark brown, chocolate, brown, and liver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Ashley was great. She sent regular updates and always answered my questions. She responded very fast as well. I also loved that she introduced the puppy’s to outside and grass. It made my puppy used to going to the bathroom outside. I really saw a difference.

Ashley was great to work with. She always responded quickly to answer our questions and is very knowledgeable on the breed. When we picked up our pup we were happy to meet his mother, Ashley and her family. We were provided lots of information and resources for our new addition. We highly recommend Park’s Family Farm.

Ashley was/is so great! Communication was excellent and very important because we're from Massachusetts and could not make the trip to Alabama for an in-person visit. We received no less than 78 emails from Ashley, giving us "pupdates" and responding to endless questions from me and my wife. Ashley's professionalism and Good Dog's excellent technical support made a huge difference in our experience. We have owned 8 dogs before Barkley the Boykin, and this was the best process by far. Also, it was a real confidence boost to see the health reports of the two parents. Our previous dogs presented all sorts of health issues, even from reputable breeders, so having the "all clear" from these reports was key. Finally, the obvious love and care given to our new family member was evident from the very start. You can certainly rely on Park's Family Farm to produce healthy and happy four-legged family members.

Ashley was wonderful to work with. She answered all of our questions and kept us up to date on everything. I would highly recommend her as a breeder.

Working with Ashley was a wonderful experience. She promptly and thoughtfully answered all our questions. The puppy updates she sent were delightful and truly built our excitement for bringing our new family member home. Knowing we faced a long travel day to Montana, Ashley provided helpful advice to ensure a smooth journey. She even prepared a blanket with Fey’s scent, which worked perfectly—Tiko slept through the entire four-hour flight! Thanks so much for a great Experience!
