Meet the breeder

I'm Ashley H., the breeder behind PARK’s Family Farm located in Hurtsboro, AL. We believe in breeding responsibly & for a purpose, health testing to ensure good genetics & raising our pups to fit any family be it as a pet, hunter or both. Our pups are loved & cared for from before birth to when they go home, we want forever homes for them & are here to offer lifetime support.

Q. & A. with Ashley

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding soon after adding my 1st personal Lab to the family. I started to “nerd out” as some of my family like to say learning about different factors in pedigrees & genetics & what can affect a puppy & shape it into who it will be before it’s even born. Many things come from the hands on training & their day to day life but the genetics play a big part & caught & held my attention.
  • What makes your program special?

Honestly one of the most important parts of our breeding program other than our selective breeding & genetics comes after birth, all of our puppies are raised around our family & our kids are just as much an integral part in our program as the Early Neurological Stimulation & Scent Exposure we do, they are loud, fun, playful & help the pups burn off energy & learn to have fun with people.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our English Cocker Spaniel puppies include black and white, lemon and white, black, and lemon roan. Basset Hound puppies include lemon and white and black brown and white. Boykin Spaniel puppies include dark brown, chocolate, brown, and liver. Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

For years, we searched for the right Basset Hound to fill a place in our hearts after losing the family Basset our kids grew up with. We knew we weren’t just looking for a puppy—we were looking for a new family member. From the very first conversation with Ashley, we knew we had found the right breeder. Ashley made this experience so much more than just buying a puppy. She truly cared. Every week she shared photos, videos, vet updates, and stories about our little guy’s personality. Watching him grow from hundreds of miles away made us feel connected every step of the way, and we could tell how loved he was before he ever came home. We flew from Massachusetts to Atlanta, and Ashley drove from Alabama to meet us. She made every part of the process easy, helping us explore all of our transportation options without ever making us feel rushed or pressured. She simply wanted us to do what was best for our family. The moment we met our puppy, it was clear how much love, time, and attention Ashley had poured into raising him. She sent us home with a thoughtful bag full of everything we needed to get started, but the greatest gift was a happy, healthy, confident little puppy. We stayed overnight in a hotel before flying home, and he was incredible. He didn’t have a single accident the entire trip, handled the travel like a champ, and settled in so easily. That doesn’t happen by chance—it comes from being raised with consistency, love, and excellent care. Ashley, thank you for giving us more than just a puppy. You gave our family a new beginning and helped fill a space in our hearts that had been empty for a long time. We are forever grateful for the love and dedication you put into every one of your puppies. If you’re looking for a breeder who treats her dogs like family and genuinely cares about the people they go home to, we cannot recommend Ashley highly enough. We are absolutely in love with our little boy, and we know he had the very best start in life because of you.

Ashley was great throughout the whole process. She was very responsive, and answered all of the questions I had. She was very knowledgeable with the breed, the puppies, and the parents. You could tell she really cared for her dogs and the homes the puppies were going to. She also did a great job with providing updates with photos, training, food diet, and vet visit. Take home bag was excellent and she took the time to go through everything included. I know if I have any follow-up questions or needs, that she will have me taken care of. Great experience and I highly recommend.

Ashley was so wonderful during the whole process of getting our pup. She was very responsive, always giving updates. She helped with him learning his name and he was basically house trained when we got him! Happy and confident puppy, clearly well loved and socialized.

Ashley, you guys did a great job from start to finish. We, like most people were a little apprehensive, doing all this stuff online. But you did a great job keeping us informed how the puppy was doing along the way. Plenty of photos also helped. Yaz is doing fantastic. He is extremely smart and terrorizes my wife and I In a good way. His sharp little teeth have definitely messed us up being old people. But he is getting better all the time, or maybe we're just running out of blood. Thank you very much. It was a pleasure doing business with you.
