Meet the breeder

I'm Ashley H., the breeder behind PARK’s Family Farm located in Hurtsboro, AL. We are committed to health testing our dogs to ensure good genetics & responsible breeding while raising them to fit any purpose be it as family or hunter. Our puppies are well cared for & loved from before birth to when they go home. We want forever homes for them & strive to help any way we can!

Q. & A. with Ashley

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding soon after adding my 1st personal Lab, Ruby, to the family. I started to “nerd out” as some of my family like to say learning about different factors in pedigrees & genetics and what can affect a puppy & shape it into who it will be before it’s even born. Many things come from the hands on training of a puppy & their day to day life but the genetics caught & held my attention.
  • What makes your program special?

Honestly one of the most important parts of our breeding program other than genetics & our selective breeding comes after birth, all of our puppies are raised around our family & our kids are just as much an integral part in our program as the Early Neurological Stimulation & Hunt Scent Exposure we do, they are loud, fun, playful & help the pups burn off energy & learn to have fun with people.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our English Cocker Spaniel puppies include black and white, lemon and white, black, and lemon roan. Basset Hound puppies include black brown and white and lemon and white. Boykin Spaniel puppies include dark brown, chocolate, brown, and liver. Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Scout is settling in well. He is well advanced in house training already. He loves his new crate and goes in and naps at his own will. We are extremely pleased and impressed at how fast he is adapting. He is very confident in himself.

Ashley was amazing the entire journey in bringing home our adorable basset girl Charlie. I could tell from the moment she was home that she was socialized, was worked with and was an amazing representation of the breed. Til this day I stay keep in contact with her about how the pup is doing and she checks in often. I already decided when Charlie needs a sibling, Ashley is who I am going through! I’m just 5 days little Charlie has learned sit, down and shake. She is sleeping through the night and already going to the back door and ring the bell. She is an amazing and smart puppy, all due to the responsible breeding and work with her pups. Also since I was 8 states away, Ashley helped secure a transporter to drive her from Alabama to Pennsylvania! I can not give enough A+++++ for quality and care.

Working with Ashley was a wonderful experience. She promptly and thoughtfully answered all our questions. The puppy updates she sent were delightful and truly built our excitement for bringing our new family member home. Knowing we faced a long travel day to Montana, Ashley provided helpful advice to ensure a smooth journey. She even prepared a blanket with Fey’s scent, which worked perfectly—Tiko slept through the entire four-hour flight! Thanks so much for a great Experience!
