I'm Torie R., the breeder behind Patton's Pasture located in Ione, OR. I breed animals because of the satisfaction and joy in producing quality offspring that excel at their particular purpose, whether that is as a loved companion (corgis) , a cowhorse (quarter horses), or a meat animal (cow). We look at genetics, disposition, conformation, bloodlines, etc, overall, to have the whole package.
Q. & A. with Torie
Why did you start breeding?
I bought a pet-quality Corgi on a whim and fell in love with the breed. When he passed away, I got on the wait-list from a reputable breeder for my own foundation female, and just wanted to raise a few well-bred litters a year as a hobby. It's been such a wonderful journey, and I deeply enjoy each litter.
What makes your program special?
I take a natural approach, with superior and semi-raw nutrition for my dogs, and being raised in our home, they're part of the family from the beginning. I use a program called Puppy Culture to create happy, well-adjusted puppies that will thrive in their new home, and are well-suited to just about any breed-appropriate endeavor their new owners would like to pursue.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Torie has been the best breeder I have encountered. Her care of the litter is seen through the frequent updates she provides and is evident from the moment you meet your new family member. I flew to Oregon to bring home our girl and even though we flew on the loudest contraption I have ever been on she was calm, sweet, and quiet. When we got home she sprinted to meet my wife and it was love at first sight (I dont blame either of them for the betrayal, they are made for each other). In the blink of an eye she knew a dozen tricks and was able to earn her canine good citizen status as soon as her vaccines were complete. Torie works hard to ensure her litters are well rounded and capable of thriving. She gives you a puppy who is poised to be the greatest joy in your life, but you have to be willing to put in the work to train and be there for your family. If you are planning to give one of these dogs as a gift (gifts are possessions and dont have feelings, a person receiving a dog has not made the conscious choice to give up time, energy, and money), want an "outside dog", or are too busy to train please do not take a dog from Patton's Pasture. Please dont waste the incredible care and potential that has been invested in these puppies. I have lived across numerous countries and states and have had the privilege of sharing my life with several dogs ranging from Basset Hound to Belgian Malinois including several Corgis. I have never had a more intelligent, loving, or impactful dog than the one Torie trusted me with. Thank you for making such an impact in our lives.

Torie was very responsive to any of my questions both before and after we got our pup! She sent us videos whenever we asked before we were able to take Beanie home! Highly recommend Patton's pasture if you're looking to add a new family member.
