I'm Amber S., the breeder behind Pawlite Best Friends located in Sturbridge, MA. These puppies have been carefully raised and socialized since birth with daily handling, exposure to grooming, noises, field trips, temperament testing and more.

Why did you start breeding?
The fact that we will always need more health and temperamentally solid dogs. Our standard poodle is a lovely dog who does great with therapy dog work and dabbles in sports. She has passed extensive health and genetic testing. We found a lovely male Australian labradoodle who is a working service dog who also passed all of his health and genetic testing, and they make a great pair.What makes your program special?
We are deeply and daily involved in our puppies development. We have also documented all of our health and genetic testing, temperament testing and daily life and exercises with these puppies. We are very upfront about everything that we have done to prepare these puppies for success. My Facebook page documents their journey.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Puppies are all the same price regardless of size or color. We match puppies to buyers based off of temperament and lifestyle.”

Litter update on 13 July •…ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and ESI (Early Scent Introduction) are 2 of the ways that we get a very early, rudimentary picture of the puppies, which we build on as they grow. This early exposure helps them learn how to handle handling, in addition to their daily individual cuddles, and works with their sense of smell while their eyes and ears are still closed. We do this from day 3-18. We are adding the Empowered Puppy Program onto our Puppy Culture work as I have really enjoyed watching their social media videos, so I have been taking their course to hopefully benefit our puppies and their future families even more.

Program update on 25 Apr •…Fae continues to excel at training. She does great with other dogs, loves people and is practicing public access. She had her first trip to the mall and loved it. She also had her first formal grooming appointments and the groomers absolutely adored her and said she did perfect, especially for a puppy and her first time. She will make a lovely active dog, sport dog, or active service dog for a lucky family!

Program update on 09 Mar •…Zephyr also joined us for a second brewery trip with his mom, Nessie. It was very busy, also with a lot of dogs, kids and adults and lots of loud noises. He was calm, focused and happy the entire time and got a lot of compliments for good behavior. He also practiced potty on cue before we went in and after we left!

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
