I'm Amber S., the breeder behind Pawlite Best Friends located in Sturbridge, MA. These puppies have been carefully raised and socialized since birth with daily handling, exposure to grooming, noises, field trips, temperament testing and more.

Why did you start breeding?
The fact that we will always need more health and temperamentally solid dogs. Our standard poodle is a lovely dog who does great with therapy dog work and dabbles in sports. She has passed extensive health and genetic testing. We found a lovely male Australian labradoodle who is a working service dog who also passed all of his health and genetic testing, and they make a great pair.What makes your program special?
We are deeply and daily involved in our puppies development. We have also documented all of our health and genetic testing, temperament testing and daily life and exercises with these puppies. We are very upfront about everything that we have done to prepare these puppies for success. My Facebook page documents their journey.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Litter update on 14 Aug •Some photos from their first full bath today! We also did a preventative anti-resource guarding exercise and of course, lots of playtime!

Litter update on 12 Aug •…How do I get 11 puppies outside multiple times a day at only 6 weeks old for potty training? I teach them to follow me and to come to my puppy recall/tapping from an early age, essentially as soon as I introduce food to them. This is their very first recall and gets them excited to show up for me and they know when I summon them, they know good things are coming!

Litter update on 10 Aug •…The puppies had a very busy week! They visited a Montessori School, the women's home that their mom does therapy work at, my families house and yesterday they got to go outside for potty time for the first time! Now they get to get used to weather, a little pool, playing in grass, etc until they are ready for the big yard! They have also continued practicing their puppy recall, sound introductions, handling exercises, individual water introductions, and experienced with new things daily!

Litter update on 30 July •…Here is an example of one of the puppies actively taking themselves to the potty pads! They are obviously not 100%, but it's fascinating to see them do this at exactly 4 weeks old.

Litter update on 29 July •…I assure you they will not all be staying, but you can see how happy they are for lovings and cuddles. Laurels tail is going a mile a minute which is typical for her

Litter update on 28 July •…Enter, the Can Curtain! This is a common noise maker, often used with working puppy litters to build sound resilience and nerves, I find that our puppies really enjoy it and we haven't had any with sound sensitivity so far, though this is not the only noise we introduce. You can see the puppies are curious about the new item and that's exactly what we want, bold and curious puppies who are not afraid of new things or sudden changes.

Litter update on 27 July •Some cuddle time with the babies. They are getting big at almost 4 weeks! They are starting playing as well as starting potty training

Litter update on 24 July •…Puppy bath day! We are working on Early water exposure with the puppies, this is their third time with a mini bath, no cleaner, just relaxing in the water with their heads supported and they love it! This will help with their later grooming practice as well as make them more likely to be interested in swimming!

Litter update on 21 July •…Fae is almost 8 months old and excelling at service work. She is affectionate, social, and confident. She is learning paddleboarding and already does scent based medical alerts, as do several of her siblings also in service dog programs.

Litter update on 21 July •…A little puppy photoshoot! Eyes and ears are open, they have started the very beginnings of potty training and sound exposure. They have had 3 nail trims, as well as 2 water exposures already. They are very sweet babies and we are loving watching them grow!

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
