I'm Jim R., the breeder behind Peke Lovers of Texas located in Mabank, TX. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from birth up until they leave our arms to snuggle into yours! We just adore this breed and can't wait to share our love for them with you! We are passionate breeders and are dedicated to maintaining responsible breeding practices. We do all that we can to make sure our pups get the best care and go to the best homes!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    owned many years before breeding and like with grandchildren we love having them & playing with them, but also enjoy our quiet time when they return home. It's the same with these puppies we enjoy raising. Breeding has allowed us to experience that joy of playing with them as the so rapidly develop and watching their individual personalities develop

  • What makes your program special?

    The primary benefit of our program is the socialization the puppies experience versus those puppies raised in a kennel environment. our puppies are handled daily and raised with other dogs both pekingese and at a older age with our bigger Yellow Labrador. they get to interact with these other animals as well as multiple people from infants to adults experiencing a variety of sounds and multiple voices as well as handling.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream, fawn, red, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    Jim is an extremely patient and reliable breeder. Since the very beginning, he never failed to answer my questions whenever they have come up. And he didn't have any problems being transparent about how the process will go. Jim is also very flexible and open to suggestions and regularly offers advice as needed. I really appreciate working with him. I also felt that he took great care and effort in being collaborative in how to handled things. Whenever he speaks about his Sires and Dams, his affection for them is obvious in his voice. I could tell from the first moment on that they were treated really well, like furry family members. And Jim spoke fondly as he describes each one's great and unique personalities. So I felt confident that whichever puppy I got, would inherit one too. Now that I have taken my new little one home and have gotten to know her. I've found her to be such a sweetheart and so well behaved. She instantly blended into our family as if she's always been here. Because she is well socialized, she automatically knew to follow the example of the other dogs here and has already used the pee mat without much prompting and direction. She loves to cuddle in my arms or sit underneath me when she's sitting on the floor, or she will either lay on one of the dog beds around the apartment or one of the folded dog blankets that I have in the living room. This week she took some interest in rolling a ball. I love how focused she looks whenever she's doing things. She's so cute. I love her sooo much already and I just met her.
