I'm Deborah S., the breeder behind Pemberley Retrievers located in Shawano, WI. I raise quality, field-lines Golden Retrievers who can do a variety of activities but are also great pets.
Q. & A. with Deborah
Why did you start breeding?
My second search dog I co-owned with a breeder. She had 2 litters with her and then agreed to mentor me as I wanted to breed the girl too in order to get my next search dog partner.
What makes your program special?
I am a follower of the Avidog education system and am aware of the genetics of the sires I choose. The mom is given a stimulating life (I do field, nose work, obedience, tracking, and agility) with a quality diet. The pups are raised using Avidog principles and receive medical checks by ophthalmologists and cardiologists before they are placed at about 8.5 weeks. Socialization and a variety of experiences are provided.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark golden and golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
