I'm Penny D., the breeder behind Pennys Goldens located in Toledo, OH. As a true lover of Golden Retrievers, I am a small hobby breeder that strives to improve the breed. Many of our dogs have conformation and obedience titles, but more importantly, they are wonderful companions. All our breeding dogs are health tested and all pups are raised in our home.

Why did you start breeding?
I always wanted to provide families with healthy quality dogs. I love combining my nursing knowledge with dog breeding genetics.What makes your program special?
We are in the box with the pups every day. We sleep next to Mom for the first 2-3 weeks to assure everyone does well. We put our puppies through a nurturing program, and my home resembles a daycare center during their time with us.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
