I'm Martha A. W., the breeder behind Personalized Dog Training - Windisch Goldens located in Chatsworth, NJ. I work to breed Goldens that are healthy and of good temperament, do well in hunt tests, and are good as household companion dogs. I do everything I can to better the breed and ensure my dogs and puppies are able to get the very most out of life.
Q. & A. with Martha A.
Why did you start breeding?
After starting to show my first Golden, Tawny, in obedience, I also became interested in other dog sports including hunt tests and tracking. I even attended an agility class back in the late 1980s before agility was an AKC sport. I was a founding member of NJPBGRC and that is where I first learned about breeding. I was mentored by the founder of the club Kathy Uhrman, Bridlewold Kennels.
What makes your program special?
Honestly, I’m not sure it’s all that special. There are a lot of good golden breeders who are members of GRCA who are working to preserve the form, function, and health of our beloved breed and many of them have a way larger impact than me who rarely breeds. That said, my breeding program is special to those who have purchased pups from me, and as a CPDT-KA, I do provide them free training advice.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark golden and golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
