Meet the breeder

I'm Shelby P., the breeder behind Petty Paws located in Hartville, MO. We raise healthy, happy puppies in the countryside. Our puppies are born and raised in a family environment, surrounded by children, other pets, and the everyday sounds of home life. They receive hands-on care, and lots of gentle handling, helping them grow into well-adjusted, confident companions.

Q. & A. with Shelby

  • What makes your program special?

We’re a small, family-based breeder raising our dogs in a loving home—not a kennel. Our puppies are part of our daily life, handled and socialized from birth by both adults and children. We focus on health, temperament, and early development, giving each puppy the best possible start. Our parent dogs are well-cared for, health-checked, and treated as cherished family members.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Shihpoo puppies are mini size. Cockapoo puppies are mini size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Shelby was the absolute BEST! She was very responsive, we got to FaceTime, and she was super knowledgeable about the breed. She has been beyond helpful and gave me my dream dog! Working with Shelby through Petty Paws to find my Cock-A-Tzu, Piper, was an absolute dream. Shelby made the entire process incredibly smooth, stress-free, and transparent from start to finish. You can tell she genuinely cares about placing her puppies in loving homes and provides amazing support throughout the journey. At 4 months old, Piper is the most cuddly, sweet, cute, and playful girl, and she absolutely loves kids! I am so grateful to Shelby for my healthy, happy, and stunningly beautiful pup those sweet, expressive eyes melt my heart every single day. I highly recommend Petty Paws and Shelby to anyone looking for their new best friend.
