Q. & A. with Lynette
Why did you start breeding?
Breeding exceptional English Springer Spaniels is truly a family legacy for us at Pheasant Run Springers. Watching our Springers grow up as both skilled hunting companions and beloved family pets inspired me to continue the tradition. Today, we’re proud to carry on that commitment—raising our dogs as part of our family and helping them become a joyful part of yours.
What makes your program special?
At Pheasant Run Springers, our breeding program stands out because it’s rooted in family, tradition, and purpose. We focus on producing well-rounded dogs that excel both in the field as hunting companions and at home as loyal, loving pets. Our commitment doesn’t end when a puppy leaves our care—we’re here to support families and ensure your Springer becomes a cherished part of yours.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver and white, black white and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

English Springer Spaniel
About Winny
Winny joined our family from Virginia in fall of 2024. She is an adoring sweet girl that loves to snuggle after a day of playing with her humans or chasing after squirrels. She comes from the first generation of our family's bloodline of English Springer Spaniels! We are very excited to welcome her to our family!
Waylon, dad
English Springer Spaniel
About Waylon
Waylon is endlessly chasing tennis balls, flashlight beams, and sticks galore. He has joined the family from Whispering Pines, MN, and boasts the same handsome bloodlines of our retired Trudy. He is loyal as can be while also gentle and loving with young children. He has stunning black-tri features and will pass on both his charming looks and truehearted personality to his many puppies to come.
Pheasant Run Springers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for English Springer Spaniels.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
