Meet the breeder

I'm Laurie S., the breeder behind Poke-A-Nose Danes located in Monroe County, PA. I love being a breeder. My focus is on raising structurally sound and correct Great Dane puppies with excellent health. I have a passion for this breed, and I am dedicated to furthering my education so that I can continue to improve my breeding program as well as share my knowledge with others!

Q. & A. with Laurie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I had my own Great Dane and fell in love with the breed. I wanted to do my part as a responsible breeder and produce healthy, well-rounded pups. It has been an absolute joy of a journey, and I am so happy to be able to share these wonderful dogs with other loving families and individuals. I have studied for years and have a great mentor that has guided me for a lot of my process.
  • What makes your program special?

I do everything I can to ensure my puppies have what they need to develop into healthy and happy dogs. I devote my time, energy, and attention to each litter to ensure my puppies get the best start in life. I take pride in what I do and am excited to introduce your family to your next Great Dane puppy!
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Laurie was EXCELLENT with everything from beginning to end. She’s VERY knowledgeable on the breed and answered all of our questions and was very responsive. Our dog is beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Hopefully she is still breeding Great Danes when we want our next one.

Laurie was incredibly responsive and assuring during this entire process. I have been involved in everything from conception to delivery of our pup. Keanu is an amazing, smart, snuggle bug of a Great Dane. He was housebroken in a week, crate training was started by Laurie and basic obedience. I would highly recommend Poke-a-nose-Danes as a breeder. I’ll be a return customer!

Laurie was nothing short of amazing and still is. Kimber came home almost potty trained. Puppies will have accidents but only 2 in 4 days is amazing. She knew sit and touch and we continue to work with her daily but Laurie has set her up for success. She loves the puppies and treats them like family. She is always eager to answer questions and help in anyway. I will be getting another Dane from her in the future!!! I can not recommend her enough.
