Meet the breeder

I'm Savana W., the breeder behind Poodles in the Ruff located in Peoria, AZ. I’m a dedicated poodle breeder and college student who balances hands on care for happy, healthy dogs with an active lifestyle. When I’m not training or caring for litters, you’ll find me on the soccer field. I bring that same energy to my pups with breeding, health, and early socialization.

Q. & A. with Savana

  • Why did you start breeding?

My interest in breeding started years ago, with my Aunt who has the highest standards in breeding, and mentors me along the way. Having been around her puppies my whole life, I knew I wanted to be a breeder myself. Having an expert by my side, helps me provide the most exceptional approach, focusing on health, socialization techniques, and best breeding practices for my dogs, and our pups.
  • What makes your program special?

I focus on the individual needs of each puppy and help them develop and grow in their own way and personality.Every litter is a little miracle and a reminder of why I do this. I’m nurturing personalities, preserving traits I adore, and creating lifelong bonds between dogs and people. It’s messy, sweet, and absolutely worth it.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include apricot, brown, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

We had the best experience with Savana. We adopted Coco, an apricot miniature poodle, from her 5 weeks ago. Coco has been a dream puppy. She was already almost completely housebroken. She also walked well on a leash from the get go. Coco is so affectionate, adorable and confident. She gets along very well with our 3 year old mini schnauzer Lulu, who lost her best buddy a week before we got Coco. Coco quickly got Lulu out of her depression and they are now best buds, playing non stop all day long. Savana is so lovely and very caring of her puppies. You can tell she raised them with love. Savana was very concerned that her puppies go to homes that will provide love, stimulation and great care. She was very responsive to all communications and made the adoption process so easy. Savana's family was also very lovely and welcoming when we came to meet Coco. We could not be happier with our experience. We recommend Savana, Poodles in the Ruff, and her puppies without reservation.
