I'm Melissa S., the breeder behind Poodles of New England located in New Britain, CT. Our names are Sherwin and Melissa and for over twenty years, we have been a part of a breeding family. Melissa’s family has bred Labrador Retrievers for twenty-three years. For a few years early on in our marriage we also bred Labradors. However, after learning our son was allergic to dog dander we stopped. So here we are now in love with dogs who have hair instead of fur. We have always been big believers in making litters of puppies part of our family. We love on them until we can find them the perfect forever home. We are located in Central Connecticut.

Melissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Melissa partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
“We take great care in placing each puppy with the right family. Puppies are matched once they are old enough for us to evaluate their temperaments and personalities — typically around 6-7 weeks.”

“This price includes AKC limited registration, the first round of shots at their second vet visit, and deworming. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your puppy.”
Melissa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Melissa offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Melissa directly.

About Murph
Meet Murphy – The Proud Papa Murphy is a calm, easygoing AKC-registered Standard Poodle with a wonderful, laid-back personality. At just 28 pounds, he’s a smaller-sized standard—perfect for families looking for a more compact poodle without sacrificing any of the breed’s intelligence or charm. Murphy has a gentle nature and loves to be around people. He brings not only great structure and a beautiful coat, but also a steady, affectionate temperament that he consistently passes on to his puppies. His size, demeanor, and pedigree make him an ideal sire for well-balanced, family-raised poodles. Murphy has had genetic testing.

About Parti
Meet Parti – Our Loving Mama Parti is our calm, intelligent, and affectionate AKC-registered Standard Poodle. She lives in our home as a cherished member of the family—not in a kennel—and enjoys a quiet, relaxed life by our side. Her gentle nature, impressive intelligence, and beautiful markings make her a joy to be around and a wonderful mother. We are a small, hands-on breeder with just two beloved poodles in our home. We focus on raising one litter each year, allowing us to give every puppy the time, care, and socialization they need from day one. Parti’s exceptional temperament and strong lineage make her litters something truly special. Parti has had genetic testing.

We've been home 2 weeks with our little girl Belgium. Her name is now Sunshine Belgium Waffles, otherwise known as Sunny Waffles! She is 11 weeks old and she is a gem of a pup! Melissa was extremely patient with us as we did not go into this process without much thought. We were pet free for 10 years and if we were going into this life change again, our pup had to be just right! I put months into our search and settled on Melissa's breeding program. She entertained several questions and was always responsive! Since picking Sunshine up we have settled in nicely and are doing great! Our Veterinarian has been highly complimentary of Sunny overall! Her staff are impressed with her demeanor and nonchalance with all things Vet related. We feel extremely lucky to have found Melissa and her puppies! If you are thinking of bringing home a new family member please do not hesitate to! I did all the research for you! We look forward to years of joy with our little girl! Warmly, Dianne

Melissa was so easy to work with and we couldn't be happier with our pup! She was communicative, honest, and thoughtful throughout. I had a great feeling from our first call, and she really followed through the entire time including during the pregnancy, answering all of my questions and making sure it was the right fit. Our puppy has acclimated very well to being at home and clearly was socialized and taken care of well. She's just been a joy and I'm very thankful to Poodles of New England.
