I'm Esa J., the breeder behind Positively Doodles located in Fairfield, IL. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from the moment they're born! The loving disposition of these breeds are the best! We put great effort into raising our litters so our puppy families will have the best experience raising their new family members.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I wanted to raise my children with dogs in our home and teach them how to be responsible for another living being, I also want provide people with well bred dogs that are healthy and well balanced.

  • What makes your program special?

    We’re happy to walk families through our dogs, how our puppies are raised and lifetime support. Educated families make confident decisions, and that leads to the best lifelong matches. My goal is to breed health-tested, balanced dogs so we can raise puppies who are healthy both physically and emotionally. I want every puppy we place to become a true member of your family for life.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Bernedoodle puppies include mini, medium, and standard sizes. Poodle puppies include miniature, moyen, and standard sizes. Cavapoo puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Bernedoodle puppies include red, chocolate merle, brown and white, sable, tri-color, phantom, blue merle, and merle. Poodle puppies include sable, apricot, and phantom. Cavapoo puppies include merle, tri-color, chocolate, red, brown, blenheim, black and white, black and tan, and apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Getting a puppy from Esa

Esa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Esa partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes the first round of vaccinations, deworming, puppy socialization, final vet check. The deposit is non-refundable. It is to hold your place in picking order, after breeder picks. I do puppy picks at 6 weeks of age, in order of deposits placed.”

Contract & health guarantee

Esa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

    I can't recommend getting a puppy from Positively Doodles enough! Esa was amazing to work with both before and after we got our cavapoo. She was extremely responsive to all of our questions. She made sure we had plenty of food, toys, and information on raising a new puppy. It's very clear how much effort Esa puts into training her puppies and exposing them to different things before they go home. Our cavapoo has been regularly using her puppy pee pads since she arrived at our house. She was very comfortable in a crate even on her first night here. She hasn't been scared by loud noises, doesn't beg for human food, and has been so friendly to everyone she meets.

    We recently acquired our Bernadoodle, Eleanor (Ellie), from Esa/Positively Doodles and we couldn't be happier with the new addition to our family! It was our first time working with a breeder and while it was a bit overwhelming when we began our search, Esa made the whole experience easy and wonderful. She had captured Ellie's sweet, bouncy personality so well in the description, and she was incredibly responsive to my many inquiries, as well as very helpful in setting up several calls so we could meet her and Ellie by phone (we're in NY). We fell in love quickly and when we decided to move forward, Esa and Ellie were able to meet us halfway. I also want to commend Esa and her family with the training they were able to do upfront with Ellie in preparation of her new life. She arrived fully housebroken, non-reactive to city/apartment noises, and very relaxed about bathing/grooming. A dream come true, and I would highly recommend Positively Doodles to anyone looking to add a new companion to their family!

    We had a wonderful experience adopting our puppy. Communication was easy and responses were fast. With the industry being filled with a lot of dishonesty, we were cautiously optimistic that this puppy was real. All of our concerns were put to rest when our request to do a video call was accepted. Esa went out of her way for us, she even added an app to her phone so we could do a video chat. We cannot thank her enough. Living 250 miles away, we decided to fly down to a nearby airport to pick up our new little buddy. Esa was able to meet us right at the airport and go over all of the paperwork and how to care for this new little treasure we were bringing home. She even gave him a bath and trimmed the hair on his feet and face so that he was even cuter in person and smelled great. Our hope is that everybody that adopts a puppy has the same kind of experience we did. Thank you Esa

    Esa was very detailed and transparent with our little Lady. Lady was 7 months old when we picked her up. She was very well trained on a leash, knew several commands, was house trained, and is such a sweet little thing. Lady gives us a run for our money because she really loves her exercise, training, and play time; but we wouldn't have it any other way! We thank her so much for our newest addition to our family.     I highly recommend Elsa. She was incredible to work with. She kept me informed with everything she could. I received pictures and videos constantly along with advice.
