Meet the breeder

I'm Arieanna W., the breeder behind PreciousGem Miniature American Shepherds / Mini Aussies located in West Jordan, UT. I began my journey with an incredibly smart Mini Aussie and have been hooked since! I strive to offer quality AKC Miniature American Shepherds to show and family companions while improving health, temperament, structure, and trainability. We train in various performance sports such as agility, lure coursing, scent work, and soon in herding.

Q. & A. with Arieanna

  • Why did you start breeding?

I aquired my first Mini Aussie while I was in college and fell in love with the breed. She was so quick to learn commands and tricks and was always by my side. I was then hired as a canine trainer and realized how versatile this breed is! I began dabbling in conformation, agility, and herding, and the rest has been history!
  • What makes your program special?

I love versatility! I try my best to title my breeding dogs in multiple ways. Not only do I want a dog that can prove to have useful and durable structure, I also want a dog with a sound temperament and an ability and drive to perform in other events. Some of these events include agility, lure coursing, tricks, obedience, rally, and more! I am very very passionate about responsible breeding.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature American Shepherd puppies include red tri-color, black tri, red merle, and blue merle. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle, black tri, red tri, and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Arieanna was a delight to deal with. Her knowledge and devotion to the breed are so apparent. She puts her whole heart into the Minature American Shepherd puppies she breeds. Very helpful and keeps in contact once the puppy has gone to their new home. This is very helpful for first time owners of the breed. We love our little Maggie, she is such a delight and I have the confidence that she was bred with care to be a healthy, happy dog. It was very important that any puppy I obtained was bred to the AKC standard with love and care.
