I'm Ashley R., the breeder behind Prestige Kennel LLC located in Forest, VA. We are a small in-home breeding program. We are dedicated to keeping our dogs healthy. We prioritize genetics, teeth, coat, and breeding quality dogs. We make sure to breed dogs that are happy, healthy and well-socialized for all of our families. *We do not allow people in our home due to risk of parvovirus and coccidia. Akc papers do not go to pet homes.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    As a child I grew up along side the show ring learning from handlers and breeders of all sorts of breeds. From Great Danes to Whippets, Chinese Cresteds and Borzoi. I learned the right way to breed and train dogs. As an adult my love for Mini Schnauzers has brought breeding back into my life.

  • What makes your program special?

    My breeding program is very small and all of my dogs are hand picked for all of there qualities. I take pride in my dogs and the puppies we produce. They fill hearts and homes with love.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include wheaten, white, parti, liver, black and silver, black, and salt and pepper. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Ashley

Ashley has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Ashley partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We take great care in finding your next puppy for you. We use a pre-born deposit system. Color/gender/temperament/size along with time that suits best to bring home your new puppy. ”

Puppy prices include a $350 refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $4,150 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Pet homes only. All deposits are refundable/can transfer after 1 year if no puppy is offered. No AKC Paperwork for pet homes. Lifetime take back guarantee Health guarantee and Health insurance included. . Deposit secures a place on the pre-born waitlist. Please let us know if you have a preference for litter or color. We operate strictly from a deposit list. A deposit is a commitment to purchase a puppy and reserve your place in line. Deposits are non-refundable. If we are unable to offer you a puppy within 1 year, your deposit will be refunded. Full payment for the puppy is due at 7 weeks of age.”

Ashley may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Brucellosis

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Animal Genetics Panel, Full Embark Panel, DNA Profile

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Ashley made the entire process so easy, and she was great to work with! She answered all of the questions I had for her prior to putting down a deposit. Once the puppies were born, she sent pictures and a video, which was wonderful, she also sent information on their food so I could be ready for them. Delivery day was delayed due to an issue out of ashley's control and we worked together to try and think of alternate options - she was able to get the original plan put back in motion for the following day, which was great because I was so excited to see the puppies (i took two from the same litter). She also followed up after delivery to be sure everything went well. I really enjoyed working with her, and would absolutely do so again! The puppies are thriving and are just so awesome!

    I found Ashley to be receptive to my wants and desires all throughout the process of acquiring a puppy . I have had 7 mini-schnauzers ( most with “ traditional “ coloring or markings). 5 solid black , 1 black & silver and 1 solid white …some “ timing “ issues arose in getting a “ black or black and silver “ puppy , so Ashley offered me a Red -Parti female with double Blue eyes … my heart melted upon seeing her pictures , I had to have her …I had found Good Dog after losing my 5 yr old White Mini -Schnauzer from complications of Diabetes and Bladder Stones , I got a puppy , only to get the devastating news she had a congenital liver defect called “ liver shunt “so she had to be euthanized at 9 weeks old …I lost 2 dogs in 10 days … Bradhi and i were devastated and lost without Cooper and Lexi …I began searching for a reputable breeder of miniature schnauzers . I found Good Dog , which led me to Ashley who was amazing as I stated…that being said , I have NOT been impressed with the multitude of Good Dog ‘s fees and add ons that were presented to me at the time of purchase , along with the percentage of the fees charged to the breeders who sell their puppies through the Good Dog Network. I do realize they are supposed to provide a secure sale , have vetted the breeders in their network and some other so called perks , but these extra fees add up and jack the price of the dog up by $100.00 $400.00 +, not to mention the state taxes that are added to the purchase of the dog ….,all these “adds ons “ end up causing the initial price of the puppy to be considerably inflated ! I also did not like not being able to see where the puppies live , if it’s clean spacious etc .., I have purchased 11 mini schnauzers and gotten 8 from other breeders who had multiple videos of the puppies as they were developing , had still shots of the puppies from various angles , talked about their progress and personality development… another big issue is, I could pay by cash or check without all the service fees which add to the cost of the puppy too … All in all I appreciated Ashley , her efforts to accommodate me , but do not like the “ impersonal “ approach by Good Dog , nor do I their money grabbing fees for everything ..,
