Puppies at the Half Acre Farm

Meet the breeder

I'm Hilary F., the breeder behind Puppies at the Half Acre Farm located in York, PA. Breeding Mini Aussiedoodle and Mini Australian Shepherd Puppies for loving families. We take pride in the love and quality care we pour into these puppies while they are with us.

Q. & A. with Hilary

  • Why did you start breeding?

After falling in love with my own Aussiedoodle and mini–Australian Shepherd, I started doing research to learn about the breed and started dreaming of breeding them for other families. After a few years of research, I am starting the process of breeding and raising these amazing dogs. All mothers are our personal pets and treated as family.
  • What makes your program special?

We put as much love and care as possible into the health and wellbeing of all our puppies. From taking loving care of our mothers to doing whatever we can to provide care and beginner training for the puppies to set them up for success for when they join their new families.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Aussiedoodle puppies are mini size. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include tiny and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Aussiedoodle puppies include blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies include blue merle, black tri, and red tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Good level

Puppies at the Half Acre Farm reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Aussiedoodles.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
