I'm Jimmy C., the breeder behind PWH Farms located in Longview, TX. We are professional Dog trainers and we have been training & competing with working dogs for the last 30 years. Our pups are very literally farm raised. The socialization they receive here can’t be duplicated in any other environment. Our pups are guaranteed to be healthy and temperamentally sound.
Q. & A. with Jimmy
Why did you start breeding?
Dog Training naturally led me to breeding my own working stock. I have bred several varieties of working dogs, hounds and terriers. In the late 90s I fell in love with Staffordshire Bull terriers and I can say I’m proud to compete in dog sports with these little guys against much larger breeds. It’s their size, temperament, drive and over all personality that makes them special above others.
What makes your program special?
We stand out from other programs because our dogs are in our “Farm Dog” program as soon as they begin to walk. The socialization that they get here for their first months can only be accomplished in an environment such as this. From horses and farm animals to side by sides, ATVs, ponds and creeks. Our pups are exposed to every sound and surface under the sun and will be ready for any adventure
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red, red and white, white and red, fawn and white, fawn, brindle and white, brindle, black and white, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
PWH Farms reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Animal Genetics Panel, L-2-Hydroxyglutaric Aciduria (L2HGA), Staffordshire Bull Terrier Type
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

When my service dog began to slow down a few years ago, and eventually decided to retire herself, I was, frankly, dreading the process of finding a new prospect. I spent months researching breeders; I was specifically looking for a male staffordshire bull terrier, and my priorities were a willingness to work, even temperament, and healthy background. I was veru apprehensive about getting a puppy, as my last dog was rescued as an adult, so I could already tell her personality was suitable for work. After my first contact with Jimmy in May, my worries were erased.
From the beginning, it was clear that Jimmy really cares both about his individual dogs, and about bettering the breed as a whole. He had ample referrals to happy parents of his previous pups, and he clearly follows through with these parents to ensure their dogs remain happy and healthy throughout their lives. He was happy to answer my litany of questions and helped me select the right litter based on the parents' temperaments.
After eventually deciding on a puppy, Jimmy kept me updated with pictures and progress notes. In addition to providing excellent socialization, he was also kind enough to familiarize Bento with his carrier for the plane in advance.
On the day of pickup, I arrived at the Shreveport Airport. Bento immediately ran to me when he saw me, and we have been (healthily) inseparable since.
I am absolutely blown away by Bento's calm demeanor--he slept through not one, but two flights, and happily ate his chew quietly during our layover. At home, he is able to settle himself well when crated, and enjoys somersaulting around during his waking hours. While he has not been a big fan of a few things initially, namely snow, he always takes a moment or several to observe, rather than run away or react. Anything that was once worth a single bark is no longer interesting to him after only a week. He is eager to please and an insanely quick learner. My partner asks me every day, "how is he just the most genetically superior puppy?" And I mean it when I say that Jimmy is absolutely to thank for that. I would highly recommend Jimmy to anyone looking for their next best friend.
