I'm McKenzie P., the breeder behind Quality Iowa Doodles located in Elkhart, IA. I’m a proud wife and mother to lots of sweet children. Dogs have always been the love of my life. I began breeding in 2016, inspired by the desire to craft great family dogs. As a former Certified Labor Doula, nurturing comes naturally, and our family is dedicated to raising loving, well-mannered pets who truly become family.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I got into breeding out of a lifelong love for dogs and a desire to raise them with purpose and care. Guided by faith and a family-first heart, our goal is to thoughtfully raise healthy, well-mannered puppies who are nurtured from birth and placed into loving homes where they are truly valued as family.

  • What makes your program special?

    We are dedicated to breeding and raising top-quality dogs with a focus on responsible and ethical practices.   • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are mini size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include grey and white, white, red, sable, black and white, tri-color, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from McKenzie

McKenzie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, McKenzie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We want to make sure families and puppies end up feeling very loved and well taken care of. Families that have been pre-approved (via telephone interview and / or filling out the online forum) will be able to select their pup according to their reservation number once pups are 5 weeks old, as you can see coat patterns more clearly and their personalities are really blooming!”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,250 - $3,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“ALL PRICES INCLUDE – 1 Year Health Warranty Veterinary Health Exam Veterinary Health Certificate Up-to-date on vaccinations, shots, de-worming Micro-chip (registration will need to be done by new parents) Sample bag of their kibble & puppy treats Imprinted by mother and siblings for well-rounded and confident puppy Educational enrichment along with family socializing for a mannerly, easier to train puppy List of recommendations Tips on caring for your puppy Scarf or hairbow. This counts towards total cost.”

McKenzie may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Quality Iowa Doodles reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Bernedoodles.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
