Railroad Tails

Dylan M.

Breeder of Miniature American Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Dylan M., the breeder behind Railroad Tails located in Phoenix, AZ. The name Railroad Tails comes from Railroad Court, the street of my first home. It marks where this all started and the standards that still guide the work today. Our focus is on cultivating the natural strengths these dogs already have to create lifelong companions.

Q. & A. with Dylan

  • Why did you start breeding?

The start of it all goes back to my childhood. Before it was my responsibility my family bred dogs for ranching and general companionship.
  • What makes your program special?

Railroad Tails is built around doing the basics extremely well. Our dogs are raised with structure, routine, and real-world exposure that encourages confidence, focus, and adaptability. Instead of micromanaging every step, we concentrate on developing natural strengths and letting good traits show through, resulting in dogs that are capable, steady, and genuinely enjoyable to live with.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
