Meet the breeder

I'm Marcy L., the breeder behind Rainbow Goldens located in Durango, CO. I breed show quality Golden Retrievers that I show in multiple venues. All of my dogs have health clearances and an emphasis on temperament. My dogs are my pets and house dogs. I have been breeding for 40 years and have loved every step of the journey. My puppies are often sold before they are conceived.

Q. & A. with Marcy

  • Why did you start breeding?

I understand the very important role that breeders undertake; that being today’s breeders are the guardians of the future Golden Retrievers. I do everything I can to stay educated and devoted to ensuring I am breeding healthy, happy pups.
  • What makes your program special?

I do everything I can to ensure my puppies have all they need to develop into healthy and happy dogs. In my breeding program, good health and temperament are essential, and love is always included. My puppies are raised in and around my home and yard so are exposed to all household activities and noises. I employ Early Neurological Stimulation to promote health and stable temperaments.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
