Q. & A. with Denise

  • Why did you start breeding?

My family bred Arabian horses for 20 yrs and my husband's family bred Jack Russell Terriers. Between our two families we have owned many dogs from Collies, Beagles, Jack Russells,&English mastiffs, but once we adopted our first Aussiedoodle we were in love! The sweet temperament and wonderful companions these dog's make sparked a passion in us to want to share our joy with others.
  • What makes your program special?

We are a small family run business which allows us to care for our mammas and pups round the clock. Their health and safety is our #1 priority. We raise them in our home and they are around responsible young boys ages 8 and 9 who help spend time exposing our pups to all types of sounds sights and smells. We live on 2 acres allowing the dogs to have plenty of room to play and exercise.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Aussiedoodle puppies include mini and standard sizes. Bordoodle puppies are mini size. Double Doodle puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Aussiedoodle puppies include brown and white, red merle, black and white, and black tri-color. Double Doodle puppies are tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I can't say enough good things about Denise! From the moment I showed interest in Penny (formally known as Tulip) she was responsive and informative. She sent videos and pictures of Penny frequently, and not just pictures but full on photo shoots. The updates were so cute and definitely a highlight of our days. We had lots of questions since we were new to the breed and she answered all of them quickly and happily. She even would send links on the products I request recommendations on. We appreciated all her time and efforts with the puppies, getting them use to the vacuum, nail trimming, and just normal house noises. You can really tell the whole family cares. I highly recommend Ramirez Family Doodles and would definitely get another puppy from them.

She kept me updated on Lily’s progress until it was time for her to join me. I am so blessed to have my little Lily in my life. Thank you Denise for making this process an enjoyable experience.

Denise Ramirez is a truly remarkable person who prioritizes the well-being of her puppies above all else. From the moment we reached out to Denise, we were struck by the exceptional nature of her puppies. My experience with Denise is unlike any other adoption we’ve had during our four-decade marriage. Our first dog was rescued from the NYC ASPCA, the second from a backyard breeder with a Bichon litter of one boy. Our third and final dog, before Denise, was a rescue from a Pet Smart, as we were both returning to work and wanted our Bichon to have a companion. In the past, we simply adopted dogs without providing them with food or instructions on their behavior. However, Denise is different. She walks you through every step of the adoption process, ensuring that your deposit is safe and held in escrow by Good Dog. There’s no dog, no money. As someone who hasn’t had a dog in over six years and has dealt with numerous breeders, some legitimate and some not, I can confidently say that Denise takes great care of her puppies. She takes stunning pictures of all of them, and the Christmas collection is truly impressive. How she manages to get the pups to sit still is beyond me. When I picked up my new furry friend, whom we decided to name Poppy, from the flight nanny, both the dog and the nanny had had a long day. After driving for about 45 minutes with the pup sleeping peacefully in his crate, which I had brought with me, we finally arrived home. As soon as we got there, Poppy went straight into his crate and promptly fell asleep. Since he’s been home, I’ve had numerous questions for Denise. Well, we’re finally settling in, and I’m happy to report that Poppy is paper-trained. Here’s a tip: keep things other than the pre-pee pads off the floor to prevent your dog from mistaking your expensive rug for a pee pad.

We got the most amazing puppy from the Ramirez family! After several months of research and communication with other breeders, we were so thrilled to find Denise. Unlike so many breeders, the Ramirez family breeds and raises puppies *in their home as part of the family.* Since day 1 they have been exposed to normal family life - the sounds and habits of two children, the TV and garbage disposal, and lots of human interaction. This was so important to us in choosing a dog. Denise’s puppies are like an artisanal small-batch crew who have ongoing interaction with their parents. It’s the OG way of welcoming doggy companions to the world and produces puppies that are well adjusted. Our baby came to us most of the way potty trained at only 9 weeks because of the time and attention the families give to their puppies from day 1. They were able to provide so much information about the different personalities and differences between the litter mates which was extremely helpful in choosing the right dog. We are so grateful to have found the Ramirez family and recommend them wholeheartedly without reservation!
