Meet the breeder

I'm Courtney M., the breeder behind Raven’s Ridgebacks located in Scranton, AR. Our mission is to raise healthy, happy, beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies & connect loving families with their new best friend! We care so much about each of our dogs and make sure to find our puppies the perfect families and individuals with lifestyles that will complement this amazing breed.

Q. & A. with Courtney

  • Why did you start breeding?

My husband grew up with a Rhodesian Ridgeback when he was a teenager. He said it was the best/smartest dog he had growing up. After our boxer, Nobi, passed away at the age of 15, he convinced us to get a puppy Rhodesian Ridgeback we named Raven. We instantly fell in love with her and loved watching her grow. She impressed us so much with her beauty and brains we decided to find her a mate and start our own breeding program. After much research and patience we finally found the perfect RR to compliment her. We drove 20 hours one way to meet our new puppy Roscoe in South Carolina. His dad was an import from South Africa and we loved the look of his dark red coat and extra-large muscular build, not to mention his show success. We are very happy with our decision and feel very blessed to live our lives with these two.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are our family not our side hustle. We don’t “breed” as a business, our dogs don’t live in a kennel….. these dogs stay warm by the fireplace, roam our family farm, find “snacks” in the chicken coop, attend baseball games, go to the lake, go on vacation, and know they are loved. We want to breed a child’s best friend, a playmate, a protector, and a loyal companion. We strive to breed all the “show quality” traits with the additional love and affection needed to make a great pet. That’s what makes us different!!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are rd whtn blk nose. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
