"36 month genetic health guarantee, AKC limited registration for pets, full registration for show prospects who complete their AKC Championship and full health testing. All puppies are raised using Puppy Culture/Avidog, are vaccinated and dewormed according to veterinary recommended schedules, microchipped, and have a veterinary exam prior to going home with their families. Deposits are non-refundable providing I have a puppy available that meets the criteria agreed upon at the time I accept the deposit. If no such puppy is available, (eg deposit is for a black female and the litter produces only males) the deposit can be refunded or transferred to another litter to ensure priority. Deposits are accepted only when I have a pregnancy confirmed via ultrasound."

About Walnut
Walnut is a dog with personality and presence to spare. He’s always up for anything, and is both highly intelligent and biddable. His show career was limited, but highly successful, earning his AKC Championship quickly and mostly owner handled. His Grand Championship was achieved even quicker, entirely owner handled, and in the process he was awarded multiple regular group placements as well as 5 consecutive NOHS group wins, 3 NOHS Reserve Best in Shows and a NOHS Best in Show. He earned his NOHS Silver level of achievement with only 10 total trips into the OH group ring, and was the number 6 Owner Handled Standard Poodle for 2024. At home he is a happy goofball, an excellent snuggler, and loves a good game of fetch. He is athletic, happy, and always game for whatever his people and dog friends are up to!

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
