I'm Clint D., the breeder behind Red MAX Golden Retrievers located in Stigler, OK. Our program focuses on the deepest dark red color, coupled with the calmest disposition. Our dogs are family dogs. We are striving to breed pups that can offer hunting/retrieving capabilities, but be a solid healthy family pet as well. Our health program is exemplified through OFA and DNA testing to offer the highest longevity and health possible.
Q. & A. with Clint
Why did you start breeding?
My brother in law purchased a Golden puppy and I was amazed at the intelligence and beauty of the breed. I ran across a registered Golden female and thought it would be interesting to raise puppies. I am hooked and we bought two more females. Our goal is 5 breeding females over the next two years.
What makes your program special?
I don’t know how special we are, but our goal is simply to offer a higher quality, darker red, highly intelligent dog at a reasonable price. In moving forward with our program, all of our females will have merit awards as they pass different levels within the HRC.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are dark golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Clint was responsive and genuine. Given the 7-hour drive between us, he offered a facetime call between our family and his with the puppy to meet & greet and ask questions face-to-face. Clint made it easier for us in travel by driving in a little bit to shorten our drive, over the top! We couldn't be happier with our puppy and can tell he was well cared for with lots of love in Clints home. Thank you Clint for providing us with such a beautiful puppy to raise with our family.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
