I'm Isaac B., the breeder behind Red String Farmstead located in Middletown, VA. Veteran-owned, family-centered, health-focused. Red String Farmstead is new, but we've been involved in breeding for years! All puppies receive ENS, ESI, sound desensitization, vaccines, deworming, puppy enrichment, early socialization, exposure to common fears like stairs and household items.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Isaac grew up in the Doodle community! Both of his parents were Doodle breeders and we supported them for several years with media and dog work before deciding to start or own program.

  • What makes your program special?

    We're focused on early enrichment and exposure because we believe these are essential to the long-term health and behavior of all dogs. Everything we believe comes from our love of family and friends. When customers take home a puppy, it isn't just a transaction; its an adoption of a living being into your home who will be both a family member and a friend.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Goldendoodle puppies include medium and standard sizes. Bernedoodle puppies include medium and standard sizes. Poodle puppies include moyen and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Goldendoodle puppies include cream, apricot, red, chocolate, black, and parti. Bernedoodle puppies include white, brown, sable, black, black and white, tri-color, and phantom. Poodle puppies include sable, apricot, black, blue, brown, cream, red, white, parti, and phantom. Golden Retriever puppies include dark golden and golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Isaac

Isaac has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Isaac partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“First, we establish a baseline on each deposit-holding family on the litter. Then, we use the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test (PAT) on our litters at 7 weeks old and write summaries of each puppy based on their results and our eyes-on observations of them. We then write down our wish-list families for each puppy in order of best match. We then use this list on Take Home Day to help guide the right families toward the best puppy while also taking their non-aesthetic preferences into consideration. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $350 non-refundable deposit and between $3,150 - $3,650 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Includes puppy, vet certification, health/vax record, 2-year health guarantee, Wooby's Early Life Program Certificate, FROMM puppy food, scent cloth, natural deworming supplement, bandana, and toy. Deposit guarantees a spot on a litter. Customers pick in deposit order. We may deny sale if we feel the customer is unprepared to take care of a puppy. Can change litters one time. No deposit refunds.”

Contract & health guarantee

Isaac may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Full Embark Panel, Osteochondrodysplasia, Miniature Poodle Type, Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1B), Bernese Mountain Dog Type, DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
