Meet the breeder

I'm Alicia D., the breeder behind Red-Dawn located in Celina, TX. AKC Breeder of Merit since 2003. OFA CHIC + Echo on all parents. UKC & AKC Hunting titles on parents. Embark DNA. Est 1986 We produce all hunting genetics litters. We also blend American Show, European Show and American hunting lines to reduce inbreeding. Litters are often DNA COI of 15%.

Q. & A. with Alicia

  • Why did you start breeding?

My parents got me a Golden Retriever puppy as a child and it was my full responsibility to train it. They took me to obedience school every week. The dog-show ladies that ran the kennel club mentored me on not only how to train my dog, but how to show and how to be a good breeder. Back in the 1980’s the ladies who showed, bred, trained their dogs had much wisdom to pass on.
  • What makes your program special?

Years of breeding, showing and training dogs gives us insight into how to best breed Goldens. Our goal is to reduce inbreeding by blending lines of Goldens. We do this by blending dogs from separate continents and varieties of sub-types of Golden lines. We know from science that health and longevity come from genetic diversity. Check our articles we wrote on this subject on our web site.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
