I'm Elisa R., the breeder behind Regal Alaskan Klee Kai located in Richlands, NC. All of our dogs are Registered UKC show dogs, we will also be Registering with AKC FSS. We OFA health test all our breeding dogs, strive to pass down great temperaments, lovely structure and movement, and healthy pups. We strive to better our breed and to better the next generation for the future.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I was being mentored in my breed for 3 years before I ever started breeding. I wanted to help better our breed by having better temperaments and hopefully getting rid of health issues like thyroid or Factor VII.

  • What makes your program special?

    I show my dogs in conformation and Dog sports to have the best of the best. I also use Puppy Culture with all my litters to help desensitize and socialize all my puppies before they go to their new homes. I’m also on the Reputable Breeders list for our National Breed Club “Alaskan Klee Kai Association of America”.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include toy, mini, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red and white, gray and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Brucellosis, Dentition

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
