Rhoades Woods Brittanys

Timothy R.

Breeder of Brittanys

Meet the breeder

I'm Timothy R., the breeder behind Rhoades Woods Brittanys located in Montpelier, OH. We breed top quality pups for home, hunting, and competition. We would love to place our dogs in competition homes. Our goal is to preserve the natural hunting ability and temperament of the Brittany by producing versatile hunting dogs that can double as outdoor companions for active families!

Q. & A. with Timothy

  • Why did you start breeding?

In the Fall of 1998, a friend asked me to go bird hunting with him and I accepted the invitation. He brought along his well behaved, lovable Brittany that impressed me more than words can explain. After we both shot a couple birds over her I was instantly hooked and had to have one and thus began my love for these intelligent dogs. I began breeding to improve my own pedigree and continue the amazing field abilities of these dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

I spend countless hours on the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals researching the backgrounds of both sire and dams making sure of their health backgrounds. I also use The Breeders Standard Breeding Program to ensure the potential breeding remains within the breeding co-efficient guidelines. We breed for QUALITY not quantity. We only have 1 to 2 litters per year. It's a labor of love not money.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
