I'm Kyla W., the breeder behind Rikashay Kennels located in Elmore City, OK. We are dedicated to responsibly raising Miniature American Shepherd puppies known for excellent health, temperament, and intelligence. With 15+ years of experience, our puppies are vet checked, well-socialized, and raised on our Oklahoma farm with early enrichment to become wonderful family companions.

Why did you start breeding?
I first fell in love with the breed while attending APHA horse shows, where I saw incredibly intelligent, beautiful dogs calmly working beside their owners without leashes. I knew I wanted that kind of companion. I bought my first dog, K.C. (Kyla’s Cowgirl), and from that moment I’ve been dedicated to perfecting my breeding program while earning my degree and becoming a special education teacher.What makes your program special?
Our breeding program is built on strong foundation bloodlines and a commitment to health and quality. All of our dogs are genetically health tested, and we carefully select parents for temperament, conformation, size, and athletic ability. We raise our puppies using the Puppy Culture method, providing early socialization and enrichment to help them grow into confident, well-adjusted companions.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Kyla has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Kyla partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

Price
“Price includes AKC registration, up-to-date vaccinations and dewormings, a puppy packet, and starter food to help your puppy transition smoothly into their new home. A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your puppy. The deposit is applied toward the total purchase price, with the remaining balance due at pickup.”

Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Chondrodystrophy and IVDD Risk (CDDY-IVDD), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Cerebellar Cortical Degeneration (CCD), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
