I'm Chris R., the breeder behind Ritchie’s Frenchies located in Republic, MO. Ritchie’s Frenchies is a family breeding program focused on raising healthy, happy and well-socialized French Bulldogs. Our puppies are raised with lots of hands-on care and attention, and we’re committed to supporting our puppy families long after their Frenchie goes home.

Why did you start breeding?
I honestly don’t remember exactly why I started breeding years ago. I was intrigued by it—and who doesn’t want to play with puppies? I took some time away from it when life got busy but later returned to breeding with a bigger purpose: involving my kids and teaching them responsible pet care, hard work, dedication, and the reward of watching a puppy become part of someone’s family.What makes your program special?
Before every breeding, we ask one question: “What combination will create the best family member?” To us, “best” means happy, healthy, and fun! We don’t simply follow trends. We choose our pairings intentionally, focusing on health, temperament, personality, and producing Frenchies that families will love sharing their lives with.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, black and tan, blue, and blue fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
Getting a puppy from Chris
Chris has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Chris partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“The price includes AKC registration, age appropriate vaccinations and a certificate of health from our vet! The deposit holds the puppy for you until it’s time for it to go home with you!”

Litter update on 21 Sept •…This is one of my favorite stages of a litter! Eyes are beginning to open, puppies are starting to walk, and we’re getting our first little windows into their personalities. This is definitely a litter I’ll always remember—and one that has me constantly debating, “Which one…or two…should I keep for myself?” 😂 The colors and structure of these puppies are amazing, and I’m so excited to watch their personalities continue to develop over the next few weeks. This is such a fun stage!

Litter update on 13 Sept •…11 happy, healthy puppies arrived September 8th—6 girls and 5 boys, with SO much blue and tan! I’m genuinely excited about this pairing because Millie and Jessie are two of my favorite dogs I’ve ever owned. Millie is incredibly loving and caring, while Jessie has one of the funniest, most outgoing personalities—and we’re already seeing some of that same spunk in their puppies! Personality was the biggest reason I chose these two. When planning a breeding, my first question is always, “Will this pairing produce great family companions?” With Millie and Jessie, I loved what each could bring to the puppies in temperament, personality and companionship. Their beautiful head shapes and structure were an added bonus, along with the fact that both are active dogs who enjoy walks and handle activity well for French Bulldogs. These puppies are still tiny, but I’m already excited to watch their personalities develop and see the companions they become. I have a feeling this is going to be a really fun litter!

Farley is a male French Bulldog. Carefully selected as a great representative of his breed, Chris decided to make him part of their program. Chris has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Parent health testing
Good level
Ritchie’s Frenchies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for French Bulldogs.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
