I'm Margie W., the breeder behind Riverbend Goldens located in Webster Groves, MO. I am a responsible high-quality Golden Retriever breeder and I also have American Staffordshire Terriers. I breed only OFA cleared dogs. My dogs are bred for their health and temperament. They are wonderful family pets and can perform well in obedience, rally, and conformation.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I wanted to breed health tested dogs and put my knowledge and ambition toward the betterment of my breed. I started doing obedience then got involved with local Golden Club becoming an Officer of the club.
  • What makes your program special?

    I am dedicated to putting in my greatest efforts into my program. My dogs are family and they bring so much joy into life. My goal is to create the best family member for future puppy buyers. I have a wonderful puppy who is a resident at an Assisted Living Center-Sandy NLC on Facebook. I have many return buyers.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Margie

Margie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,700 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All puppies are the same price, no difference for female/male. All pet puppies must be spayed/neutered by the time they are 18 months old. Do not spay/neuter at early age, they need hormones to fully developed. Deposit is only refundable if the sex you want is not available at whelping.”

Contract & health guarantee

Margie may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
