Julie H.

Breeder of Golden Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Julie H., the breeder behind Riverside Goldens located in Highland, CA. At Riverside Goldens, we believe a Golden Retriever should be more than just a dog — they should be a lifelong companion, a source of comfort, and a joyful presence in your home. That’s why we’ve dedicated ourselves to raising puppies who are not only beautiful, but also healthy, happy, and ready to become part of your family. From the very beginning, we do everything we can to give our pups the best start in life. That means carefully selecting our breeding dogs for excellent health, sound structure, and gentle temperament. It means thorough health testing, thoughtful nutrition, and early care that lays the foundation for strong bodies and resilient immune systems. It also means socializing our puppies in a loving environment, so they grow up confident, curious, and eager to bond with their new families. We know that bringing a puppy home is not just a decision — it’s a dream, an investment, and a promise. Our goal is to honor that promise by raising Golden Retrievers who embody the very best of the breed: loyalty, intelligence, and an endless capacity for love. Whether you’re looking for a gentle playmate for your children, a devoted partner for your adventures, or simply a warm-hearted friend to brighten your days, you’ll find your match here at Riverside Goldens. Because when you welcome a Riverside Golden into your life, you’re not just getting a puppy — you’re gaining a healthy, happy family member who will bring joy for years to come.

Q. & A. with Julie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We are life-long dog lovers and have never been without multiple dogs in our home. As our dogs aged and we were ready to bring younger dogs into our home, we were surprised by the lack of healthy, fully health-tested dogs there were. We knew then that we could help others obtain ethically bred healthy dogs, and began our months-long nationwide search that resulted in our foundation Goldens.
  • What makes your program special?

With the goal of creating the HEALTHIEST puppies possible, we searched nationwide for several months before selecting our breeding dogs. We are giving you the best foundation, with generations of passing OFA scores, clear genetic health panels, excellent temperaments, and a low COI. We are also active in dog sports, titling our dogs in areas that showcase their trainability and temperament. Additionally, we do ENS & ESI to provide your puppy with a firm foundation upon which you can take any direction.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
