Meet the breeder

I'm Megan M., the breeder behind Riverstone Aussies located in Bristol, TN. Inspired by the mountains of Appalachia, we raise Mini Australian Shepherds with a strong emphasis on temperament, health, and thoughtful early development. Our puppies grow up in a loving home environment where they receive daily interaction and guidance from the very beginning.

Q. & A. with Megan

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our love for dogs and animals led us to the Mini Australian Shepherd, a breed known for intelligence, loyalty, and personality. What began as admiration quickly became a passion, and we now dedicate ourselves to raising well-socialized puppies in a loving home setting.
  • What makes your program special?

What makes our program special is the attention and care each dog receives. Our Mini Australian Shepherds are raised in our home as part of our family, with early socialization and daily interaction to help them develop into healthy, confident companions.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature American Shepherd puppies include black tri, red tri-color, red merle, and blue merle. Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include black tri, blue merle, red merle, and red tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Communication was solid from day one. I asked a lot of questions as a first time puppy owner and always got thoughtful, quick responses. Never felt like I was bothering them. Transparency was a big one for me. They shared paperwork on both parents, vaccination records, microchip info, deworming schedule, and weekly weights. Everything documented, nothing hidden. You can tell the puppies are actually raised in the home and socialized day to day, not just kept in a kennel. The take home package was a nice touch too: a blanket with mom and litter scent, a favorite toy, a photo album, and a detailed booklet about my puppy specifically. I picked up my girl Lucy a little over a week ago and she's settling in well. Healthy, social, and clearly came from a good environment. If you're looking for a breeder who's communicative and transparent, this is a good one.
