Meet the breeder

I'm Colleen K., the breeder behind Rockin’ Slow Farms located in Statesville, NC. Our English Springer Spaniel pups are home-raised. We put a lot of care into socializing them so they can transition easily into their new lives. We give our dogs the best lives possible. We are looking for families and individuals that will provide our puppies with the same level of love and care.

Q. & A. with Colleen

  • Why did you start breeding?

We decided to get into breeding due to our love for animals and for starting pups off on a good path. English Springer Spaniels are such a fun and intelligent breed and we want to share that with others. This is not a business but out of love for the breed and interest in families getting good quality pets.
  • What makes your program special?

We are hands on and interact with our litters multiple times a day for up to 2 hours at a time. We initiate crate training, potty training, and simple recall. We snuggle the puppies and have friends who help us socialize the pups (all ages).
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red and white, liver white and tan, and liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I couldn’t have had a better experience with Colleen! We live in Maryland so we were a little apprehensive at first doing the down payment long distance without meeting Lady, but as soon as Colleen and I started messaging then FaceTiming I was immediately assured. She answered all of my questions, gave me updates everyday with pictures, and let me know how her personality was developing! The whole processes was delightful and Lady came to us understanding sit and on her way to knowing her name because when we told Colleen what her name was going to be she immediately started using it day to day. When we went to pick her up it was so easy and very good to meet her and her husband in person. They are great and couldn’t recommend them more! Lady and her parents Rosy and Gus have the sweetest temperaments! One day when Lady grows up we will definitely consider contacting Colleen again 😁

This is now our fourth Springer Spaniel, and our experience with Colleen has been the best by far! From the very beginning, Colleen was incredibly responsive and quick to reply to every question. It’s so clear that she has a deep passion for Springers and treats every puppy like they’re part of her forever family. She went above and beyond to prepare our sweet “Millie” for the transition to her new home. We received frequent updates, photos, and videos while we waited for Millie’s big homecoming, which made the process so exciting, fun and reassuring. When it was time to pick Millie up, Colleen had thoughtfully prepared a “to-go” bag filled with everything we could possibly need—puppy food, a blanket, leash, toys, treats, a portable water bowl, and more! 😊 Millie adjusted to her new home amazingly fast, and we give full credit to Colleen and Ralph for the love, early training, and care they clearly pour into every pup. We HIGHLY recommend Rockin’ Slow Farms when you're ready for a Springer of your own. Colleen is truly EXCEPTIONAL!

We just wrapped up our first week with Strider at home, and we’re thrilled! Colleen and Ralph at Rockin’ Slow Farms did a fantastic job raising our pup. He’s nearly house-trained, super social, loves family time, and already sits on command. Highly recommend!

Colleen is the best breeder we’ve ever had the privilege of working with. Her puppies are exceptional as she exposes them to so much in their first eight weeks. The puppies are actually raised in her home and she has many friends that stop by and give the puppies so much extra attention. In addition, she stays in touch with all the prospective owners by sending countless updates which include videos and photos. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. And as a bonus, her husband is just as committed and engaged behind the scenes.
