I'm Judy B H., the breeder behind Rocking J Miniature American Shepherds located in Rogersville, AL. I am a small breeding program of quality health tested Miniature American Shepherds. This is my retirement hobby but it’s more of a job than a hobby!
Q. & A. with Judy B
Why did you start breeding?
My daughter got a mini Aussie as a companion while in college. While picking up her puppy, I purchased one myself. I bred her twice before purchasing better quality breeding animals. I have some excellent breeder mentors who have helped me along the way.
What makes your program special?
I strive to breed the best quality dogs I can acquire who are fully health tested. I breed dogs with good or better OFA hip ratings and normal or “breeder option” eye CERFs. Temperament is also very important as this is a herding breed and most puppies go to suburban clientele.
I sometimes offer retiring or breeding age adults for sale. Inquire privately if interested.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
