I'm Sonia G., the breeder behind Rockingdane Great Danes located in Clive, IA. I have been showing and breeding Great Danes since 1977. I am very committed to the breed and know what is required to breed a high-quality, healthy, well-rounded Great Dane. I health test my breeding dogs to make sure I am only bringing the healthiest pups into the world.

Why did you start breeding?
I wanted to see this breed bred properly. I am a responsible breeder and wanted to set an example as to what that looks like. I also wanted to do my part to give my puppies a good life.What makes your program special?
The well-being of my dogs and puppies is extremely important to me. I do everything I can to ensure my puppies have the tools they need to thrive in the world.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include brindle and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Puppy prices include between $2,500 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Dentition
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
